PERFORMANCE
Mitsubishi Outlander

One of the best things about buying an SUV is the power under the hood. SUVs are known for their impressive engines, and these two models are no exception. Let’s take a look to find out which model has the better performance features.

Engine and Towing Power

When it comes to performance, the Outlander and the Rogue both offer robust engines that pack a lot of power. While the Outlander operates using a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, the Rogue has its own 1.5L engine under the hood.

When it comes to towing, the Outlander achieves a towing capacity of up to 2,000 pounds when properly equipped. The Nissan Rogue, unfortunately, has less towing power.

Drivetrain and Drive Modes

In addition, both models have impressive drivetrains. For instance, the Outlander allows you to choose between 2-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, while the Rogue offers front-wheel drive standard and available all-wheel drive.

The Nissan Rogue also offers five driving modes with its all-wheel drive system. While impressive, you’ll have even more modes in the Outlander. With Super All Wheel Control, the Outlander offers six modes, including a MUD mode.

INTERIOR
Mitsubishi Outlander

Whether you’re driving downtown or on the turnpike, it’s important to have a comfortable interior you and your passengers can all enjoy. With these SUVs, you can expect plenty of amenities and more than enough room to stretch out.

Interior Seating

Let’s start off by talking about one of the best parts about getting an SUV: the spacious interior. Both the Nissan Rogue and the Mitsubishi Outlander have a lot of room, but if you need to drive the whole family around, the 7-seat capacity of the Mitsubishi will be better than the 5-passenger capacity of the Nissan.

The Outlander can also be equipped with an 8-seat configuration, providing the space needed to transport the kids and their friends, plus some groceries.

Interior Dimensions

While these SUVs have different seating configurations, they both have at least two rows. We’re here to see which of those rows is more comfortable. In the Outlander, you’ll find 57.9 inches of shoulder room in the first row and 55.9 inches in the second row. In comparison, the Rogue only offers 57.1 inches of front shoulder room and 37.8 inches of rear shoulder room.

As for cargo, you’ll be able to carry a bit more in the back of the Outlander, which has a maximum cargo volume of 78.3 cubic feet. The Rogue is slightly smaller with 74.1 cubic feet of cargo room.

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay®
  • Android Auto™
Driver Information Display

Say hello to the digital age. Seeing your driver's information is easier than ever with the digital displays available in these SUVs. In the Outlander, you’ll have a standard one that measures seven inches, though the available 12.3-inch digital display can be equipped.

The Rogue doesn’t have a driver display on the base trims, but it can be equipped with a 12-inch one on top trim levels.
